This Service Agreement and Work Authorization is for the customer identified below for the administrative assistance, inspection, diagnostic, maintenance, repair or roofing, solar, electrical, specialty, and/or related service work at the service location(s) identified below. Under this Service Agreement and Work Authorization, there explicitly is no not-to-exceed amount. For flat rates, please contact GERS offices for proposals. GERS reserves the right to decline any work or customers that do not agree with our listed terms and conditions. GERS reserves the right to request a new Service Agreement & Work Authorization, at any time. Filling out this agreement does not create an obligation for GERS to perform work, but acknowledges the obligation of the Customer to pay GERS for any services rendered.
1. AUTHORIZATION TO PERFORM SERVICE
Customer represents that Customer is the property owner, an authorized representative of the property owner, or otherwise has the legal authority to authorize GERS to perform services at the Service Location below.
Customer authorizes GERS and its employees, technicians, subcontractors, and authorized representatives, to enter and access the property as reasonably necessary to inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, test, photograph, document, repair, maintain, remove, replace, reinstall, or otherwise service applicable roofing, solar, electrical, mechanical, monitoring, or related equipment and systems.
Customer accepts financial responsibility for services authorized under this Agreement and Authorization.
2. SERVICE RATES
Customer acknowledges the applicable service rates publicly listed on the GERS website and agrees that such rates apply to services performed unless GERS provides different pricing in writing.
Customer specifically acknowledges the following applicable rate categories:
– Electrician Service | Starting at $125 per man hour
– Labor | Specialty | Roofing Service | Starting at $125 per man hour
– Administrative Service | Starting at $100 per man hour
Additional rates, charges, policies, and term may be found on the GERS website and may apply to the service. Charges may include, as applicable: technician labor, electrician labor, roofing labor, specialty labor, administrative time, troubleshooting, research, monitoring review, engineering coordination, manufacturer or warranty coordination, travel, mobilization, materials, equipment, rentals, shipping, disposal, permits, inspections, and other costs, reasonably incurred or associated with providing the request service.
3. TIME & MATERIAL SERVICE AUTHORIZATION
Unless GERS provides a written fixed-price proposal, service work shall be performed on a time-and-material (“T&M”) basis at GERS’s applicable rates.
Customer understands that an appointment, work order, service request, verbal estimate, preliminary diagnosis, or anticipated repair duration is not a guaranteed fixed price. Customer authorizes GERS to bill for time reasonable incurred in connection with the service, including applicable diagnostic, troubleshooting, field, administrative, coordination and related service time. The amount of time necessary to diagnose or repair a system cannot always be determined before work begins.
4. MATERIALS, PARTS & EQUIPMENT
Materials, replacement components, equipment, rentals, shipping, freight, disposal, permits, engineering, and other project-specific expenses are additional unless expressly stated otherwise in writing by GERS.
Materials and third-party costs may be subject to GERS’s applicable markup. Availability, pricing, lead times, compatibility, and manufacturer requirements for replacement equipment are outside GERS’s control and may change without notice.
GERS does not guarantee that original, identical, matching, or manufacturer-specific replacement components remain commercially available. Where an original component is obsolete, discontinued, unavailable, or incompatible, additional equipment or system modifications may be required.
5. DIAGNOSTIC & TROUBLESHOOTING SERVICES
Customer understands that diagnostic and troubleshooting services involve investigating the cause of an existing or reported problem and does not guarantee that the cause can be identified or corrected during the initial service visit.
Diagnostic time is billable regardless of whether:
– The problem is ultimately identified;
– A repair can be completed during the visit;
– Replacement parts are immediately available;
– Additional testing or return visits are required;
– The condition is intermittent or cannot be reproduced;
– The issue is determined to originate from equipment or work supplied by another party; or
– Customer elects not to proceed with a recommended repair.
*PLEASE NOTE: Troubleshooting may reveal multiple or unrelated deficiencies that were not apparent before service began.
6. NO GUARANTEE OF REPAIR OR SYSTEM PERFORMANCE
GERS will perform its services in a commercially reasonable manner but does not guarantee that inspection, diagnosis, troubleshooting, maintenance, or repair will permanently resolve every reported condition.
A service call is not a certification that the entire roofing/solar/electrical/related system(s) is free from defects. Unless expressly provided in a separate written warranty from GERS, GERS does not warrant equipment, materials, workmanship, installation, design, engineering, or conditions created by customers or third parties.
Repairing one failed component does not constitute a representation that other components will not subsequently fail. Solar production, monitoring, communications, utility operation, manufacturer platforms, internet connectivity, weather, shading, soiling, neglect, grid conditions and other factors outside of GERS’s control may affect system operation and performance.
7. EXISTING CONDITIONS & THIRD PARTY WORK
GERS is not responsible for pre-existing conditions, concealed defects, code violations, improper installation, water intrusion, deterioration, damaged wiring, failed equipment, structural deficiencies, pest or animal damage, environmental conditions, or other defects that existed before GERS’s work.
GERS shall not become responsible for the design, workmanship, warranty, or condition of an existing system merely because GERS inspects, diagnoses, repairs, removes/reinstalls, or otherwise services that system.
*PLEASE NOTE: Disturbing, opening, disconnecting, removing/reinstalling/testing existing equipment may reveal previously concealed damage or deficiencies.
8. SAFETY & TWO-TECHNICIAN REQUIREMENTS
Depending on the nature of the service call, including roof access, roof pitch, heavy lifting requirements, electrical status, site conditions, or other safety considerations, GERS may require a minimum or two service technicians.
A two-technician minimum may apply when work involves, without limitation:
– Removal/replacement/or installation of an inverter;
– Lifting/moving/removing or reinstalling solar panels;
– Heavy equipment or machinery;
– Roof access involving pitch, height, or other fall hazards;
– Work involving energized or live electrical equipment; or
– Any condition GERS determines reasonably requires additional personnel for safe performance.
The Customer acknowledges and agrees that the labor charges associated with all technicians reasonably required for safe performance of the service are billable.
*PLEASE NOTE: GERS retains sole authority over the safety procedures and staffing requirements applicable to its employees.
9. SITE ACCESS & CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer shall provide GERS with safe, timely, and reasonable access to all areas and equipment necessary to perform the requested service.
Customer is responsible for:
-Providing accurate information concerning the reported problem;
-Disclosing known hazards or unsafe conditions;
-Maintaining inverter and meter communications;
-Providing access to electrical panels, inverters, roofs, attics, mechanical rooms, monitoring equipment and all other relevant areas;
-Securing pets and maintaining a safe work area;
-Obtaining permission from property owners, tenants, associations, or other parties when required; and
-Providing available system records, passwords, plans, warranties, monitoring credentials, or equipment information reasonably necessary for service.
PLEASE NOTE: Delays caused by inaccessible equipment, locked areas, unsafe customer controlled conditions, missing information, or other circumstances outside of GERS’s control may result in additional billable time or a return service visit.
10. ADDITIONAL & UNFORSEEN WORK
Service and repair work frequently involves conditions that cannot reasonably be identified until inspection, testing, disassembly, troubleshooting, or other work has begun.
If GERS discovers additional conditions requiring work beyond the originally anticipated service, GERS may advise Customer of the condition and obtain authorization to proceed. Authorization for additional work may be provided in writing or as a verbal to GERS representatives. Customer agrees that the authorized additional work will be billed at GERS’s applicable rates unless a separate written price is agreed upon. GERS may stop work when additional authorization, materials, engineering, permits, manufacturer direction, utility involvement, or other information is required.
11. ESTIMATES & SCOPE CHANGES
Any estimate provided for service work is based upon information reasonably available at the time it is prepared. Unless expressly identified as a fixed-price contract, an estimate is not a guarantee of the final cost.
Actual charges may vary because of field conditions, concealed defects, additional troubleshooting, equipment compatibility, material requirements, code requirements, access limitations, safety requirements, manufacturer requirements, or other circumstances discovered during services.
12. PAYMENT REQUIREMENTS
Effective August 1, 2024, all service work requires a valid credit card to be maintained on file prior to the scheduled service date. If a valid credit card is not on file at least 48 hours before the scheduled appointment, GERS may cancel or postpone service at its discretion.
Customer authorizes GERS to charge amounts properly due for authorized service work in accordance with the applicable invoice and payment terms.
Customer remains responsible for payment regardless of whether Customer expects reimbursement from an equipment manufacturer, warranty provider, insurance carrier, property owner, tenant, solar system owner, financing company, or any other third party. A dispute between Customer and a third party does not relieve Customer of Customer’s payment obligations to GERS.
13. CREDIT CARD ON FILE AUTHORIZATION
Customer acknowledges that a valid credit card is required to be maintained on file as a condition of scheduling and performing service work. GERS may use the card on file for charges properly due an authorized, applicable invoices, and GERS’s payment terms. Customer is responsible for ensuring that the card on file remains valid and has sufficient available credit. If the card cannot be processed, GERS may suspend or decline further work until payment arrangements acceptable to GERS are made. GERS maintains the right to pursue collections and legal actions against unpaid invoices by the Customer, plus the cost of damages, interest and collection or legal fees incurred by GERS.
14. CANCELLATION & RESCHEDULING
Cancellation or rescheduling within 24 hours of a scheduled service appointment may result in a cancellation fee. Customer may also be responsible for non-refundable materials, special order equipment, mobilization costs, administrative costs, or other expenses already incurred by GERS in preparation for the scheduled service.
15. INVOICES, PAST DUE BALANCES & COLLECTIONS
Customer agrees to pay GERS’s invoices according o the payment terms stated on the applicable invoice or other written agreement. If no expressly written payment terms, all invoices are due upon receipt, within 48 hours during the business week, Monday through Friday.
To the extent permitted by applicable law and GERS’s governing payment terms, Customer may be responsible for reasonable costs incurred in collecting delinquent amounts, including collection expenses and reasonable attorneys’ fees and court costs where recoverable.
GERS reserves the right to suspend or decline service when an account or related owner account has a past-due balance.
16. MANUFACTURER & WARRANTY CLAIMS
GERS may, when requested and available, assist Customer with manufacturer coordination. Such assistance does not mean that GERS is the warrantor of equipment or services.
Time spend researching equipment, communicating with manufacturers, submitting documentation, processing warranty requests, obtaining technical support, coordinating replacement equipment, or performing other warranty-related administrative services may be billable at GERS’s applicable rates.
Manufacturer approval of a warranty claim does not necessarily cover the diagnostic process or installation or modification of equipment. Customer is responsible for GERS’s labor, travel, removal/reinstallation, shipping, material outside of the warrantied item costs, administrative or other costs.
17. SYSTEM NEGLECT, MAINTENANCE & WARRANTY STATUS
Customer understands and agrees that GERS is not responsible for the loss, denial, limitation, suspension, cancellation or voiding of any manufacturer, installer, equipment, workmanship, performance, or other warranty resulting from system neglect, lack of required maintenance, deferred maintenance, improper operation, unauthorized modification, third-party work, environmental conditions, failure to comply with the manufacturer requirements, or any other condition that existed prior to or independently of GERS’s services.
Customer acknowledges that the condition of an existing solar/electrical/roofing/related system at the time GERS is retained may affect the availability or continued validity of warranties originally provided by manufacturers, installers, contractors, or other third parties.

19. DAMAGE NECESSARY TO ACCESS OR SERVICE EQUIPMENT
20. RIGHT TO STOP OR REFUSE WORK
21. LIMITATION OF SERVICE SCOPE
